So much so often a yoga practice is about, there’s pushing to achieve something. This fits very much with a western mind set and our education culture.
Yin yoga is about slowing down and feeling our experiences. In Yin yoga classes most of the postures are seated. This is different to many yoga classes but also the postures are maintained from between 1 and 5 minutes. This encourages fascia release and an opening of the connective tissues. Yin yoga can also allow us to feel more balanced and calm. Through a type of yoga which uses accupressure points to stimulate the organs and includes ‘balance’ as a means to good health and wellbeing.
Yoga Therapy uses traditional yoga techniques which target the various ailments you have disclosed or exhibit.
In class we commonly treat conditions such as back pain, sciatica, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, ankle pain, arthritis, headache, insomnia, stress, anxiety, low mood, IBS and diabetes.

Yoga Therapy uses 5 techniques:
Breathing techniques, Postures, Meditation, Diet and Lifestyle change
We use the first three in class and incorporate all 5 during individual sessions
All body types are welcome, so you are never too inflexible to attend. By attending at least 5-8 sessions you will start to see which techniques are helping with your condition. So we recommend to allow this amount of time to see the effects.

YOGA CLASS, YOGIC FOOD EVENING WITH YOGA VIDEO in PLYMOUTH

WE RESUME OUR 2019 YOGA CLASSES WITH A SPECIAL YOGA EVENING 18.15-20.30 at St Saviours Hall, Barbican, PLYMOUTH, PL1 2NR
Beginning with an open yoga class for all levels (beginner to advanced)
Followed by a delicious plate of yogic food
The class will include a video installation by video artist Stavros Didakis.
Come for our first class of 2019. It’s a class with a difference.
The class is accessible for all. It will be a blend of energetic yoga techniques with slow restful postures to allow time to reflect. If you are a bit rusty or new to yoga you will be able to try out most of the postures and given alternatives where necessary.
Using audio visual installation we will participate in a one hour yoga class. The sounds used are those that have benefits for cleansing the body as recognised through yoga theory.
The remainder of the evening will be trying the delicious yogic food freshly prepared, with a chance to discuss what makes a yogic diet.

Video artist Stavros Didakis has produced a video interpretation of the inner workings of someone who was experiencing a yoga class. Using computer generated images the video aims to represent feelings which cannot be described through words alone. The video sequence will be played during the evening (during the class and food)
